United States Air Force General. He graduated from the United States Military Acadamy in 1941 and Harvard Law in in 1949. During World War II he commanded the US Army Air Corps 615th Bombardment Squadron and the 401st Bombardment Squadron, Eigth Air Force in Europe. He was awarded the Silver Star, Distinquished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, the Croix de Guerre with Palm and other awards. He retired from the Air Force in 1963.
