Ben was a 2008 graduate of Ware High School. Shortly after he joined the United States Army as a Cavalry Scout. He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 as personal security to the Brigade Command Sergeant Major. He was honorably discharged from the military in 2013. It was then that Ben reconnected with an old friend, Ashley Ziemba, and they soon fell in love. Following his military career, he enjoyed working at the fishing areas at the Quabbin Reservoir. Ben and Ashley married on October 8th, 2016. They enjoyed many memorable moments, traveling and cherishing their time together. In December 2020, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Finley.
Ben was an avid outdoorsman and family man. He enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, bird watching, paddle boarding, kayaking, pizza, camp fires, beer, conservative politics, Shirley and Bruce, The Camp in Maine, and playing with his daughter, nieces and nephew. Ben had a kind heart, warm smile, and was always first to offer a lending hand.
He is predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Bella Moulton and his Memere, Beatrice St. George.
A Funeral Service for Ben will be held privately. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 5:00-7:00PM at Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware. Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Greenwich Rd., in Ware at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 4. The public is asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Ben's honor to the Massachusetts General Hospital Neuro-Oncology team by designating "Brain Tumor Center Education and Research Fund" to Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114 or at giving.massgeneral.org.
