Sun Prairie/Eastman — Jayne Ann Oashgar-Benoy, 66, passed away on March 19, 2014 at the hospital in Boscobel.

Jayne was born June 14, 1947 in Madison to Robert (Bob) and Joan (Hein) Vinje. She was raised in Sun Prairie and attended schools there, graduating from Sun Prairie Senior High with the Class of 1965.

Jayne was united in marriage to George Oashgar on April 16, 1966. They were later divorced.

She met William (Bill) Benoy and they were married on July 5, 1986 at the farm in Eastman. They enjoyed nearly thirty years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; her son, Brenton (Dawn) Oashgar and her grandson, Brandon Oashgar; her granddaughter, Carley Messenger; her son, Brian Oashgar; her sister Becky (Tom) Juen and their son, Brad Juen; her brother, Jon (Nancy Odell) Vinje and their children, Robyn Vinje and Mark Vinje; her aunt and uncle, John and Audrey Hein and their children, Wendy (Tom) Ostlund, Robert (Bob) Hein, and Jody Hein (Tim Jensen); her many in-laws from Bill's family; and good friends, John and Kim Pomeranian and their daughter Kayla, who is very special to both Jayne and Bill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, an aunt, her former husband, and members of Bill's relation.

Jayne was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for many years.

After her retirement, she and Bill devoted much of their time to being with their beloved grandson, Brandon.

They traveled extensively to many wonderful places, favorite among them being the Badlands and other areas in South Dakota. They shared many adventures and built memories that will be cherished forever.

Jayne was an accomplished bowler, having received many awards as a member of the Madison Women's Bowling Association.

She loved flowers, bingo, playing cards, and she was an avid Badger and Packer fan. She was an excellent cook who could always be counted on to bring delicious foods to any gathering she attended. She was a generous person with a big heart.

Jayne deeply loved her family, friends, her former teammates, classmates, and her card group. Most of all, she loved life and lived it fully and with great joy. Those of us who knew her and loved her will miss her very much.

A celebration of Jayne's life will be held at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes, 2121 E. Springs Drive, near East Towne, in Madison on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Please join us and share a memory of her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to be distributed to some of the many causes that Jayne supported. It may also be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Ultimately, It would have pleased Jayne if some simple act of kindness was performed in her memory.
