RICHARD DICK BRENNAN
May 29, 1940 ~ July 23, 2021
Age 81, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side and went to his heavenly home on July 23, 2021.
Dick was born to Elva and Richard Brennan in Redding, California on May 29, 1940. He graduated from Shasta High School in 1958 and went on to Fresno State where he met his bride, Judy. They married on November 22, 1962 and he then graduated with a degree in accounting from Fresno State in 1965. Over the next few years they had three children, Richard III, Robert and Rebecca.
Dick truly enjoyed life and lived every day to the fullest. He loved the Lord, Jesus with all his heart and served on several committees at Northminster Pres. Dick enjoyed being a Certified Public accountant for 57+ years. He served as the president of the Bakersfield Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants from 1981-1982. For several years he coached Rick, Bob & Beccis AYSO teams. His favorite hobbies were going to the Condors games with his bride, hunting with his two sons, fishing with his his son-in-law and grandson and watching his granddaughter enjoy the girls onlyfort he built her in the backyard. He loved feeding the birds in the backyard, eating Kentucky Fried Chicken, watching John Wayne movies and an occasional shot of Jamieson whiskey with his Sandy and Nancy. Family meant everything to him and he never missed a single event. One of his most beloved annual events was the Christmas White Elephant Gift Exchange where rules were subject to change and at the discretion of him.
Dick is survived by his beautiful bride, Judy, his four children and their spouses, Stacy & Tom Welsh, Rick & Char Brennan, Bob & Connie Brennan and Becci & Todd Bishop, his grandchildren, Madeleine Welsh, Michael Welsh, Melissa & Andrew Ingraffia, Angela & Terrance Hill, Christine Brennan, Hailey Brennan, Ryan Bishop, Emily Bishop and his great grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lily Hill, his brother Robert his wife, Janice, his twin sister, Lorraine Dumont, John & Nancy Thomas and Sandra Sabonjian, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Elva & Richard Brennan, and his mother and father in-law, Lee & Norire Sabonjian.
The viewing will be Wednesday, July 28 from 4:00-8:00 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Boulevard.
Services will be held on July 29 at 11:00 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3700 Union Avenue.
