Mr. William Hubert "Red" Whisenant, age 93, of Somerville, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Whisenant was born on June 16, 1928 in Marshall County, Alabama to the late William Floyd Whisenant and Beedie Edna Tyler Whisenant. Mr. Whisenant proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from January 27, 1955 - January 2, 1958. He worked in Security at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. He enjoyed outdoors in his lawn and gardening. He also enjoyed carpentry that involved doing home improvements.
Mr. Whisenant is survived by his son; William Steve Whisenant; daughter, Rachel Hall (Carmen); grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaundart (Noah), Christopher; brother, Billy Joe Whisenant (Mitzie).
Mr. Whisenant is preceded in death by his parents, William Floyd Whisenant and Beedie Edna Tyler Whisenant; son, Paul Nathan Whisenant; brothers, L.D. Whisenant, Hershel Whisenant, Murray Whisenant; sister, Ethel Dunn.
A Visitation will take place at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Service will follow at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel on Saturday, July 24, 2021, 11:00 am.
Interment will follow service immediately at the Union Grove Cemetery at Morgan City.
