US Congressman. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 1852, practiced medicine in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and was president of the Hatboro National Bank in 1856. In 1877, he was elected as a Republican to the Forty-fifth Congress, served until 1879, reelected to the Forty-eighth and Forty-ninth Congresses, serving, 1883 to 1887. He declined to be a candidate for re-nomination, resumed the practice of medicine and banking until his death.
