Betty L. Chapman 78, of Decatur, IL passed away at 3:4 a.m., July 17, 2021.
Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born September 22, 1942, in Decatur, IL the daughter of William and Inez (Roan) Simpson. She married Gail Chapman on December 27, 1959. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2014. Betty attended Zion Chapel. She enjoyed playing golf and participated in the Tuesday morning Ladies Golf League at Moweaqua Golf Course. Betty also had a passion for gardening. She often enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Illini Basketball team.
Surviving are her children: Debbie Moore (Dave Cartwright) of Champaign, IL and Kevin Chapman of Boody, IL; sisters: Linda Marshall (Robert) of Prescott, AZ and Cathy Weeks (Ron) of Assumption, IL; grandchildren: Jennifer Jackson (LaRee) of Decatur, IL, Amy Moore of Chicago, IL, Austin Chapman of Virden, IL and Abby Chapman of St. Louis, MO; great-grandchildren: Havyn Jackson and LoRen Jackson both of Decatur, IL; special friends: Laurie and Jim White and Kellie Odle.
She was preceded in death by: husband, brother, and special Companion: Phil Odle.
