Funeral services for Barbara Lee Turner, 79, of Longdale, will be held on Friday, July 23, at 2:00 P.M. at the Cedar Springs Nazarene Church with burial at Fern Cliff Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Barbara was born the oldest of 3 children to Elmer & Letha Kirk on September 6, 1941, in Fairview, OK, and received her wings on July 17th at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. She attended Longdale School through the 11th grade.  She graduated from Canton High School in 1959.

Barbara was united in marriage with Donald Turner at the Cedar Springs Nazarene Church on May 27, 1959.  They spent their early marriage going north on harvest with Elmer. Other than a short time at Fort Leonard Wood while Don was in basic training, they have lived on the farm west of Fairview where they milked cows and raised cattle, sheep, chickens, and boys. She grew up on a farm and then married a farmer. She was never a stranger to hard work. Don and Barbara rarely ever missed a ball game.  They dearly loved watching their boys, then grandsons, play football and their granddaughter play in band. In the early 1990s she and Don started repairing windshields. Over the next 20 years or so they fixed probably thousands and enjoyed meeting and visiting with people. She will be dearly missed by all those who know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Letha Kirk; her in-laws, Albert Turner, Elsie Ford, Ted Nightengale, and Luther Ford.

Surviving her is her husband of 62 years, Donald, of the home; sons: Curtis of Longdale and girlfriend Lisa Vegh of Midwest City; Keith and wife Kristi of Guthrie; and Dale and wife Trenda of Longdale; nine grandchildren: Travis and wife, Destiny; Trent and wife, Jenna; Hailee; Troy and wife Karlyn; Cam; Aaron and fiancée, Karla; Justin; Jason; and Kristen; and 11 great-grandchildren: Trailee, Taryn, Tripp, Teghan, Taden, River, Peyton, Saphari, Joseph, Zayleigh, and Azpyn; brother Delvin and wife Saundra of Ponca City; and sister Danna and husband Terry of Athens, Texas.
