Our beloved father, grandfather, and friend Paul J Smith, comforted and surrounded by family and friends, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021. Paul was born June 16, 1943 to Maxine Fryer Smith and Joseph Thorne Smith in American Fork, Utah. He was the oldest of five siblings, Glenn, Kim, Karen and Jeff.
Paul leaves us all with a legacy of service. Though he would humbly deny it, his impact on his community, friends, and family was truly remarkable. Paul had a positive impact on everyone he met. Most locals may know Paul from the many service positions he held in his community. Whether he was serving as a bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as a grocer and butcher with his brothers and family, as a steward of his beautiful gardens, as a caregiver, or even just as a person to speak and reminisce with, Paul took pride and compassion in every service role he could fulfill. The world is a greater place because of Paul and for those who were lucky enough to know him, we all are blessed with the opportunity to carry on his legacy.
Paul and his late wife, Kathy, are both survived by their two children: Shaun (Marzena) and Stacy (Jayme), along with their four beloved grandchildren: Cade, Jory, Bradie and Reilly. To Paul, his grandchildren were everything.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to services.
