She was born in McAlester, the daughter of Joel B. Morand and William Dana. She attended school at St. Mary's Catholic School, where she graduated sixth grade and later attended L'Ouverture High School. Her work history was at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary as a secretary. She moved to Oklahoma City and worked as a bartender. At an early age she united with East Star Baptist Church and later united with Mount Triumph Baptist Church. She was close to her family and always had a joke or two to make you laugh. Her last days were spent at Grace Living Center, where she was president of the residents. She married Donald C. Jefferson Sr. and had three children. She later married George Barron and had two daughters. She was a resident of Oklahoma City, formerly of Mcalester, and died at the age of 60. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and son, Joseph T. Jefferson.
