Union Civil War Naval Surgeon. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a physician in Cincinnati before the Civil War began. When the U.S. Navy called for volunteers to man the gunboats of the Western Flotilla, Beauchamp offered his services to the Navy and was commissioned as Surgeon of the flagship gunboat, "U.S.S. Benton" on June 28, 1862. After the war, he returned to Cincinnati and resumed his medical profession. Beauchamp died in Hamilton County, Ohio when he was 49 years old.
