Barbara A. Woods, age 74, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Woods; her mother, Leafie Harless; brothers, Gene and Harold Shaffer, and Garry Murray.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Woods; daughters, Lisa Stubblefield and husband Robert, Christy Collins; sisters, Betty Slusher and Reva Mitchell; four grandchildren that she cherished, Lauren and Kaitlyn Brown, Jerry and Bobby Stubblefield; several nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir and serving in the AWANA ministry. She loved her church family, and was an inspiration and encourager to all who knew her. She also loved her many friends at Douglas Senior Center where she was a member of the Senior Show Choir.
The funeral service will be held 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 with Pastor Shane Phillips and Brother Phil Whitaker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:45 pm prior to the service, or anytime at the home of her sister, Reva Mitchell. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
