CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Gregory Charles Collins, 60, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia.
He was born in Abingdon, Virginia; son of the late Samuel Charles and Audrey Louise Bush Collins.
Greg attended Calvary Baptist Church on Gravel Lick in Castlewood, Virginia, and was a member of Local Union #538, Plumbers and Pipefitters of Johnson City, where he retired after twenty-five years. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Collins; one sister, Carmella and husband, Steven Thomas of Kingsport, Tennessee; mother-in-law, Louise Woods Evans of Castlewood, Virginia; two aunts, Pauline Blevins and Anna Lee Blackwell and husband, Doug; and three uncles, Glen Collins and wife, Irdella, Lester Collins and wife, Earlene, and Cary Collins, Jr.
Funeral Services for Gregory Charles Collins will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2021, in the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Pastor Travis Price and Pastor George Jessee officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021, in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday.
