DUNGANNON, Va. Samuel Charles Collins, 78, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn. He was born in Dungannon, Va., son of the late Carey and Georgia Vance Collins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He is survived by one daughter, Carmella Louise Collins of Norton, Va.; one son, Gregory Charles Collins and wife, Renee, of Castlewood, Va.; two sisters, Annalee Blackwell and husband, Doug, of Dungannon and Ruth Bratton of Dungannon; three brothers, Glenn Collins and wife, Irdella, of Dungannon, Lester Collins and wife, Earlene, of Castlewood, and Carey Collins Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Castlewood; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Samuel Charles Collins will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with the Rev. Jessie Jones officiating. Committal services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and Virginia National Guard. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers will be Sean Collins, William Collins, Justin Collins, James Collins, Jason Blackwell, Jimmy Bratton, and Jerome Collins.
