He was born April 10, 1945, to Homer and Ernestine (Truter) Spencer. Larry married the love of his life, Jeanette on September 22, 1975. They enjoyed 48 wonderful years together.
He loved his family first and foremost. He loved having family and friends over for get-togethers, everyone sitting in the garage telling their stories. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and watching his son coach basketball. Larry, an avid fisherman, loved fishing with his family and friends. He loved going to North Carolina to fish in the ocean and visiting his family in Arizona. Larry never met a stranger and always met everyone with a big smile and warm handshake. He was caring, kind and compassionate, had a big heart, and worked hard for his family. He was generous and would help anyone in need, and he always did. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather. He was our beloved "Pops"
Larry was a private detective/civil process server for over 40 years. He started his career as a Sangamon County Deputy, then became chief process server before going into business for himself alongside his wife, Jeanette.
