Son of Peter Randle and Hanna Esther Reeve Swensen. He grew up working with his dad as a carpenter in construction. He married Carma Ashby on May 6, 1955 in the Manti Temple. He continued working in the construction business while he and Carma worked as custodians for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as a city council member for Sandy City, and later on the town council for Hinckley Town, where his father had previously served as mayor for 24 years. After retirement, he became the sexton of the Hinckley and Deseret cemeteries, including the project of raising and leveling all the head stones. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carma; and son, Scott. He is survived by his sons, Larry (Leslie), Delbert (Karen), Doug (Tracy), Tony (Sondra), Kyle (Jesica), and Kevin.
