A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Tuesday, July 13, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Visitation will be 4-6pm Monday at Rafferty Funeral Home, Moline with a rosary service at 3:30pm and followed by an American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Ceremony. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or Sacred Heart Church.
Ruth was born May 22, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of John and Lena (Petersen) Kleinbach. She graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1943. She married Aime L. Adams on November 3, 1945 in Glendale, CA. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2008.
Ruth was a lifetime member of Moline Auxiliary Unit 246, member of Sacred Heart Church, former member of 8 and 40 Salon 137 of Rock Island County and Bingo Chairman for Moline Matron Unit Auxiliary for 25 years. She enjoyed playing bingo with her daughter, Kathy, was a big fan of Moline Legion Basketball, Alleman Basketball and the Chicago Cubs. Ruth loved fishing with Aime and especially taking trips to Minnesota every fall.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Richard) Dokas, Ann Arbor, MI and Kathleen (Stephen) Teeter, Rock Island; daughter-in-law, Teresa Adams, Monona, WI; grandchildren, Paul (Dara) Dokas, St. Paul, MN, David (Michelle) Dokas, Ann Arbor, MI, Philip (Traci) Dokas, San Francisco, CA, Caitlin (Dan) Frey, St. Paul, MN and Ben Adams, Oakland, CA and great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Julianna, Brian, T.J., Henry, Ruby, Beate and Sully. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark.
