Helen (Brice) Urie, more recently Helen Phillips, is now at peace following a struggle with Parkinson's disease. Helen passed at age 93, on July 2, 2021, at the Legacy Center in Canon City, Colorado. She remained amazingly sharp and interactive shortly up to the time of her passing. Helen was a member of the greatest generation. Born in Baltimore Maryland on December 31, 1927. Her life's journey transcended the great depression, the second world war as a young bride to an equally young sailor Al Urie, shipping out to war; and all the historical events that followed. She resided in Baltimore until moving to Canon City, Colorado. After Canon City she moved to Rawlins, Wyoming where she worked as a salesperson in a clothing store. She loved her job in Rawlins. She saved nearly every penny for their retirement and return to Colorado. They relocated to Canon City, Colorado then settled in Penrose, Colorado to be near family. Helen remarried after the loss of Al. She married Lawrence Phillips in 2003. Her life experiences molded Helen into a kind, honest, humble, frugal, and giving Christian who deeply loved her family and friends. These values, characteristics, and sound work ethic were her gifts by example to her family. One of Helen's favorite retirement activities was to travel by car. She and family members traversed much of the mid-west and western United States as far as Alaska. She also loved to attend shows, enjoy a good meal and a good laugh with good company. She had a great sense of humor and will be missed dearly.

Helen is survived by her daughter Carol (Paul) Langlois; son Darrin Urie, son Richard (Dawn Witek) Urie; 7 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Brice; her spouses; Albert Urie and Lawrence Phillips; and her son Charles Urie.
