Ralph E. Woodard, 72, died suddenly Tuesday at his home on the Milo Road.
He was born here June 14, 1892, son of Everett and Annie (Allen) Woodard.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the D. J. Babineau Post VFW.
Surviving are his widow Ethel (Lindsey) Woodard of here; three sons, Ralph E. Jr. of Ellsworth, Carroll D. of St. Petersburg, Fla., Robert C. of Hillcrest Heights, Md.; four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Boyce of Rochester, Mass., Mrs. Ruth C. Shurman [sic., i.e. Shuman] of LaVerne, Calif., Mrs. Charlene M. Hewett of Dover-Foxcroft and Mrs. Gloria G. Burgess of Hermon; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a nephew.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lary Funeral Home, the Rev. Cushman Bryant officiating.
Burial will be in the Dover Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7-9 p.m.
