Illnesses Claim Albert Gaffaney

Albert Lloyd Gaffaney, 57, died unexpectedly yesterday in a hospital here. Complications of pneumonia and emphysema caused death, his wife said today.

Mr. Gaffaney, born in New London, Wisconsin, came to Spokane 51 years ago. He attended Rogers High School. A former member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges, he was a salesman for McVay Brothers. He had worked most recently for Greenwood and Riverside cemeteries and Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Smith's, the Rev. Waldo H. Rist officiating, with burial in Greenwood.

Survivors include his wife, Leah S. Gaffaney, at the home, W2809 Queen; a daughter, Mrs. Corinne Ames, Spokane; four grandchildren, Kenneth, Stephen, Melinda and Melissa Ames, all of Spokane; two brothers, Jack Gaffaney, San Bernardino, California, and Glenn Gaffaney, Everett, Washington; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Dennis Michael Gaffaney, died 10 years ago.
