Mrs. Eunice Earnestine Carlton, age 78, of Murfreesboro died Nov. 11, 2007, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was born in Adams, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late George Robert and Alice Josephine Stuard Gardner.

She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Nabors and Judy Hall, both of Murfreesboro; two sons, Jerry (Susan) Carlton of Woodbury and Ronald (Judy) Carlton of Murfreesboro; sister, Rebecca (Kenneth) Lemmons of Murfreesboro; brothers, Cecil (Jean) Gardner of Smithville and Kenneth Gardner of Smyrna; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Tommy Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn. Mrs. Carlton was married to the late Ernest Carlton who died in July of 2007. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Carlton and a grandson, Michael Carter. Mrs. Carlton was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a former employee of White Stag of Murfreesboro.
