Kathy Nell King, 69, of Harrisburg, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 in Harrisburg, surrounded by her family.
Kathy was born in Harrisburg on January 22, 1952 to the late Harold and Barbara (Denny) McConnell. Kathy was a Protestant by faith and a member of the Buena Vista Church. She was a graduate of Harrisburg High School class of 1970 and Southeastern Illinois College in 1972. She retired from Harrisburg Unit School System as a reading aide.
On March 25, 1971 she married Jerry King and they were united in marriage for 49 years. She is also survived by a son, Brent Lee (Stephanie) King of Creve Coeur, MO, a daughter, Kristin Nell (Lauryn) King of Forest, VA, two grandsons, Jake and Jack King, a brother Blake (Karen) McConnell of Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gail and Nell Denny and her paternal grandparents, Kingsley and Marie McConnell.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg. Rev. Mike Dover will officiate.
