Kathleen was the first of three children for John Warner and Elva Mary (Lord) Curd. She spent the first ten years of her childhood living in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In 1923 the family moved to Los Angeles County, California. Kathleen graduated from John Fremont High School in 1931.
Kathleen married Allen Chesteen Gant on September 19, 1931 in Los Angeles, California. Nine months later, their son James, was born. Four years later their daughter Aleen was born. Allen had joined the Navy during WWII, and he served for 30 years. The family moved several times during those years, living in Los Angeles, Florida, San Diego, and Honolulu.
Kathleen died of heart failure. She is buried in the same cemetery as her parents.
