Ernestine Lee Taylor, 92, of Live Oak, CA, passed away on June 26, 2021, at The Fountains.

Ernestine was born to Louis and Gladys Cox on February 10, 1929, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, then moved to Live Oak in 1931. She graduated from Live Oak High School in 1947, then attended Beauty College and started her career in cosmetology.

Ernestine and Gordon Taylor were married August 10, 1948, in Reno, Nevada, and after several moves ended up living in Live Oak. She enjoyed her family, gardening and reading.

Ernestine is survived by her daughters, Karen Melton, and Joy Melton (Allan); granddaughters, Andrea Vallejo (Manuel), and Amanda Melton; five great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and cousin, Lillian Griffin.

Ernestine is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Taylor; parents, Louis and Gladys Cox; sister, Evelyn Cox; son-in-law, Edward Melton; and grandson, Barron Melton.

Visitation at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, will be Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 5:00-7:00pm. Graveside service will be held at the Live Oak Cemetery on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00am.
