Bob was born on August 4, 1934 in Platteville, Wisconsin, son of Joseph and Bernice (Goke) Howell. He was united in marriage to Debbie Taylor on September 12, 1964 in Galena, Illinois. She preceded him in death February 16, 2016.
Bob worked many year in auto body repair, working for himself, Senior & Sons, and later for Jenny's and Weisse and Enders. Bob later worked for Dick's Supermarket, Platteville, until his retirement. For many years, was a crossing guard for the Platteville Community School District.
Bob was an avid sports fan, following the Badgers, Brewers and especially the Green Bay Packers. Bob enjoyed being with his family, going on rides and especially fishing whenever possible.
Bob is survived by his nine children, Larry (Sandy) Howell, Kathy (Robbie Reuter) Hoffman, Chris (Jack) Williams, Troy (Carrie) Wilkinson, Randy (Kim) Howell, LeeAnna (Tim) Howell, John "Gordy" (Angela) Howell, Robert (Teresa) Howell, Jr. and William (Erin) Howell; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie (Bill) Eisle, Betty (Steve) Staskal, and Beverly (Randy) Gobin; sister-in-law, Marla Grover; brothers-in-law, Ed Getter and Wayne Payne; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie; parents; grandchildren, Cody Womack, Justin and Amanda Williams; brothers, Joseph "Bud", Richard "Dick", Tony, and John Howell; sisters, Pat Molzof, Ruby Jane "Janie" Allen, Judy Getter, Ruthie Johnson, Janet Payne, Mary Ann Bloom and Joyce McDermott.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, at a later date. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.
