Mattie Sue Robinson was born on March 21, 1950 to Rufus Scott and Ida Mae Burton in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the only child born to this union. Mattie was united in holy matrimony to John Clifton Robinson on April 21, 1972. Mattie dedicated her life to Christ at an early age, she served for many years as a nurse at Good Shepherd Church of God In Christ in Maywood, IL.

Education
In 1968 Mattie received her diploma from I.M. Terrell High School. She received her B.A. in Education from Elmhurst College in 1972. In 1978 she received a degree in Graduate Studies with an emphasis in Curriculum & Special Education. In 1994 she received her Master's in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum Development. In 2003, Mattie received her Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in History.

Military Career
From 1975-1976 Mattie served the United States Army in the Illinois National Guard (Private First Class), and from 1976-1984 she served with the Georgia National Guard where she achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Work Experience
Mattie was a phenomenal educator and was dedicated to the development of young warriors within her influnence. She began her teaching career in 1972 at Presentation Grammar School in Chicago, IL. She then moved on to Liberty County Board of Education as a Social Studies teacher in Hinesville, GA. From 1980-1982, Mattie taught reading & mathematics at the Army Education Center in Kitizengen, Germany. After a short break, Mattie returned to the workforce in 1986 as a Self-Contained Intermediate Instructor for 6th grade. Mattie then began teaching at Lexington Elementary in Maywood, IL. in 1992 as a Social Studies Instructor.

From 1994-2011 Mattie serviced the Proviso Township High Schools of District 209 in Maywood, IL. Her tenure included positions such as a History Teacher, PTHS 209 District Office Curriculum Coordinator, Dept. Chair of Social Studies, & Evening High School Principal. Mattie retired from Proviso Township High School in 2011.
