Marlene was known as the matriarch of her family. She was the best mom, grandmother, caregiver, and wife. Marlene was an extremely kind and caring person who never judged others. She was always an advocate, thinking about others and putting their needs and feelings before her own. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano, sewing clothes for Nancy, and crocheting gifts for family and friends. Marlene was a Godly woman who had a servant's heart full of compassion. She was a member of South Avenue Baptist Church in Pasadena. She lived her life putting God first, family & friends second, and herself to follow. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone. She lived in Pasadena, TX for most of her adult life and recently enjoyed living in Country Place Retirement Community for several years. Marlene loved all the Houston sports teams, especially when she was with her family and grandchildren cheering on the Astros and the Rockets. Marlene was a wonderful cook. Fried chicken was her special dinner that everyone looked forward to. She also dearly loved and helped take care of her fur babies, as well as her children's, cats and dogs. Marlene will be remembered by all who knew her as being calm, full of kindness, and always serving and caring for others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services for Marlene will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 – 10:00 am. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, with pastor Jim Overton officiating. Interment is scheduled at 1:30 pm, at the Houston National Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
