She went to school at District 42 in Stanton County and Zion Lutheran Parochial school and Leigh High School.. Eileen worked at the Leigh Bakery for four years and the Leigh cafe for five years. While living in Leigh, Eileen taught Sunday School at Zion Lutheran Church for many years. She commuted to work at Becton Dickinson until she moved to Columbus in the early 1970's. She also worked as a sales clerk at JC Penny' for five years and Sayed Sewing Center and Earl May Garden Center in Columbus for a number of years.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers and playing cards. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh before moving to Columbus. After her move to Columbus, she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and then Peace Lutheran Church.
