William Alfred Mason, 71, son of John M. and Blanche I. (Dubbs) Mason, passed away at his place of residence on June 24, 2021. William (Bill) was born in Excelsior Springs, Missouri on July 17, 1949.

Bill lived the first 10 years of his life on the family farm in Stet, MO and the family then moved to the Moulton-Udell, Iowa area. He was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren. He attended Moulton-Udell School, graduating in 1967, before going on to study at Centerville Community college where he was a part of the graduating class of 1969. His years of service were spent in the Brethren Volunteer Service, driving a semi croos-country. Soon after, Bill returned to the Moulton area and began farming. Due to unfortunate health circumstances, Bill was unable to continue farming later into his life, but never lost his love for farming or his interest in semi-trucks.

Bill spent the last 16 years of his life happily residing at Brees Rest Home in Albia, Iowa.

Left to cherish Bill's memory are his sister Sarah Jean (Jeanie) Schmitter and her husband William, his brother Ronald Mason and his wife Diane, and his brother Daniel Mason and his wife JoAnna; nieces, nephews and their children: Julie Schmitter Busch, her husband Terry and their children T.J. and Samuel; Brent Schmitter, his wife Kim and their children Emilia and Eliana; Maria Schmitter Smith, her husbandChad and their children Clayton and Sarah; Levi Mason, his wife Sarah and children Miriam and Titus; Jessie Mason Micka, her husband Joe and their children Russell, Nathan and Jacob; Christina Mason Anderson, her husband Brian and their daughter Lydia; and Aaaron Mason.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral service will be held at the Fairview Church of the Brethren at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 with Pastor Thomas McMullin officiating under the care and direction of Thomas Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to Brees Rest Care in Albia and condolences can be shared at www.thomasfh.com or www.facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
