Melba Lou (Shores) Johnson, 73, of Pittsfield, formerly of Rushville, died Sunday, January 13, 2002, in Pittsfield, Illinois. She was born June 28, 1928, in Industry, Illinois, to Lurlan Katie (Kellum) and Edward Shores. She married Millard William "Bill" Johnson, Sr. Feb. 25, 1950.
She worked at Graham Hospital in Canton for many years before retiring.
One son, Garold ''Gary'' Shores; six brothers; and five sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are four sons, Jerry ''Rock'' Shores of Avon, Jimmy Johnson of Griggsville, and Ricky Johnson and Millard ''Billy'' Johnson Jr., both of Rushville; one daughter, Elizabeth Scroggins of Baylis; nine grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren.
Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.
