Thomas M. Beck 70. of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in his residence.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, June 28, 2021, in Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Jason Stone, Celebrant Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Tom's memory to Macon County Right to Life or to Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Tom was born March 15, 1951, in Chicago Heights, IL the son of James and Lois (Stein) Beck. He retired as a cable splicer for AT&T. He went on to work as a bus driver for Mt. Zion District #3 Schools. Tom was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a Third-Degree member of Knights of Columbus. His passions were coaching basketball, Sunday family dinners, camping, and volunteering at his church. He married Mary Ann Pociask on June 26, 1971.
Surviving are his wife; Mary Ann Beck of Mt. Zion; daughters: Tara Sill (Christopher) of O' Fallon, IL, Trisha Beck (Doug Rawlings) of Mt. Zion, Katrina Beck (Michael Beghtol) of Mt. Zion, Rebekah Beck (Jermaine Andre) of Richmond Heights, MO, and Leanna Elder (Neil) of Decatur; brothers: James Beck (Deanna) of The Woodlands, TX and Andy Beck of Wolcott, IN; sisters: Lora Bell (Richard) of St. Anne, IL, Leslie Beck (Richard Pociask) of Miller Beach, IN and Lisa Abrams (Robert) of Layfette, IN; grandchildren: Rachel, Hannah, Jonathan, Lucas, Delaney, Shawn, Valerie, Douglas, Peyton, Tessa, Gabriel, Kaitlyn, Brody, Emilee, Hayley, Taylor, and Atticus.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Lynn and her husband Darrell Schweiss.
