Bill Price Greer, 86, of Roanoke, VA, went to be with the Lord to dwell in his heavenly home on Monday, June 21, 2021.



Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. and Nannie P. Greer; sister, Gloria Ann Thompson; and his loving wife, Lois Greer whom he was married to for 63 years.



Also, cherishing his memory are his children, Tonia Hackett and Jeff Greer; brother, Charlie Greer (Marie), sisters, Betty Figgatt, Maureen Garman (Bobby), and Margaret Garman (Larry); grandchildren, Chelsae Barrett (Jakob), Hillary Greer and Seth Greer; and his one and only great-grandson, Wesley Barrett. Bill is survived by many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, numerous close friends, and his faithful canine companion, Maggie. Bill attended Garden City Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for many years.



Bill was a devoted husband, father, brother, pawpaw, great-grandfather and friend to many. To know him was to love him. Bill was very kind, thoughtful and patient. Bill loved to work with his hands, especially restoring antique furniture. Bill enjoyed traveling, cherishing many summers at Daytona Beach with family, pulling the RV to Myrtle Beach with family and friends, and Pigeon Forge every summer with his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed collecting watches, turquoise jewelry and unique coins, and firearms. Bill loved his family immensely and never missed an opportunity to show it through both words and actions. Bill lived an abundant live whose loss is deeply felt by many.



A celebration of Bill's life will be held at noon, Thursday June 24, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.



The family would like to thank caregivers, Anesa Vugdalic and Jeanette Buchanan for their compassion and kindness. The family would also like to thank the palliative care staff at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their remarkable care to Bill during his last days.
