Patrick S. Hungate, 72, of Duncombe passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe. Military rites will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 PM Monday, July 5, 2021 at the funeral home.

Patrick is survived by his children, David (Melissa) Kimble of Barnum, Dwayne and Daniel Kimble both of Des Moines, and Colin Hungate of Gowrie; granddaughter, Joelle Greve; siblings, Neil (Janeen) Hungate of Otho and Mike (Lori) Hungate of Eagle Grove; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Dorothy (Higgins) Hungate.

Patrick Steven Hungate was born May 22, 1949 in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Fort Dodge. He then moved to Buena Park, CA and worked in the plumbing industry for many years before returning to the area in 1999. He was also employed at Van Diest for numerous years.
