Funeral services for Alice Head, 63, of Sweetwater will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Lamar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories.

She died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Abilene. She was born March 27, 1944, in Shidler, Okla. and married Hollis Head on Nov. 17, 1967 in Sweetwater.

She was a registered nurse for 37 years in which she worked for Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital and Mitchell County Hospital. She was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church and was a member of the Nolan County Sheriff's Posse. She most of all loved her children and her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Hollis Head of Sweetwater; a son, Michael Wayne Head and wife Shannon of Abilene; a daughter, Michelle Adams and husband Gary of Sweetwater; a special niece, Cheri Roden and husband Tony of Sweetwater; special friends C.W. and Joann Head and family; grandchildren Dustin Head and wife Jessica, and Tori Adams and Tristen Adams; a great-grandchild, Kyler Head; two sisters, Elaine Barth of Wisconsin and Margaret Conner of Kansas; five brothers, Bill Smith of Kansas, Alan Smith of Oklahoma, Joe Smith of Kansas, Ray Smith of Virginia and Lee Smith of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Smith; her father, Coleman Smith; a brother, John Smith; and a sister, Colene Long.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Schroedter, Blake Stevens, Randal Walker, Terry Burton, Jeff Garrett, Wesley Garrett, Kyle Smith and Leslie Bond.
