Eric T. Jacobson, 52, of Marshalltown, passed away unexpectedly at home Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Cremation rites have been accorded under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Eric's family will hold a graveside service at Stavanger Cemetery on Saturday evening, July 24 at 7:30 P.M.
Eric was born on September 27, 1968 in Hayward, California to Carl and Sandra (Magilton) Jacobson. Growing up in Hayward, he attended Mount Eden High School. After graduation, he went on to attend the Bay Area Community College. Shortly after, Eric relocated to Iowa, first living in Oskaloosa, where he was employed at Hy-Vee. Eric then moved to Marshalltown, where he made his home for the past twenty-two years. He was employed for twenty years as a boiler technician in the maintenance division at JBS Swift. He went on to work at Jeld-Wen in Grinnell, and most recently, at Casey's General Store on Main Street. Eric will be remembered as person of exceptional intelligence. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies and fishing.
Surviving is his brother, Jeffrey Jacobson of Gilman; his sister, Kimberly (Rick) Rubenbauer of Marshalltown; his nieces and nephews: Sonny (Darcy) Jacobson, Brittany Foote, Jessica Jacobson, Ricky DeRossett, Kristen Boehmer and Jennifer (Ryan) Nelson; a "special granddaughter," Lyla; his stepmother, LaVerne Jacobson and several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In eternal life, Eric is reunited with his father, Carl Jacobson and his mother, Sandra Jacobson.
