Remained with regiment, apart from 2 stays in hospital during 1863 and a furlough in 1864, until paroled at Danville VA.
His actual date of death is 15 Jan 1912, as attested by his obituary.
Charlotte and Patrick Dougherty were reinterred according to the tombstone at the Old Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Her name, as Charlotte, is listed alongside his name. There were a number of the dead buried at the original Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery whose graves they couldn't identify when all the buried were moved to Elmwood in the 40's or 50's, so they were reburied in a mass grave. Maybe the tombstone was moved, or maybe the other cemetery is incorrect.
