Sister Sheila Cannon, BVM, 95, of Marian Hall, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Marian Hall.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Marian Hall Chapel, where friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, where a prayer service will be at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The Eglehof, Siegert and Casper Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Sheila was an educator and was a high school teacher in Milwaukee, Chicago, Sioux City, Iowa, Phoenix, Ariz, Santa Barbara, Calif, Burbank, Calif., and San Francisco. She was on staff of Wright Hall, Chicago, and was a supervisor in the Armed Forces language school in Saigon, Viet Nam.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1911, in Chicago, daughter of Thomas and Mary Kelly Cannon.
She entered the Sisters of Charity, BVM on Sept. 8, 1932.
She made her first profession of religious vows on March 19, 1935. She made her final profession on Aug. 15, 1940.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Cannon, of Milwaukee; and cousins, Mary K. Malone, of Galena, Ill., and Cathy K. Wallace, of Chicago. She is also survived by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 74 years.
