Funeral service for Mr. Ned Spencer Sims, 92, of Anniston, will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 18, 2021, at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jacksonville. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Mr. Sims passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Noland Hospital in Anniston.

Ned was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Herta Sims; his parents, Jeff Sims and Laura Berry Sims; grandson, Greg Griffin; six sisters, Marie Riddle, Earnestine Alexander, Ruby Jablonski, Margaret Manning, Catherine Sims and Doris Smith and two brothers, Jeff Sims and Edwin Sims.

Ned was born and raised in Morganton, NC. He and his family moved to Calhoun County in May 1956. They lived in the Weaver and Lenlock area in Anniston, AL. He enlisted in the Army January 1946 at the age of 17. Ned worked in the telephone communications and retired from the US Army and US Army Reserves at Ft. McClellan, AL with the rank of chief warrant officer-4.
