Victoria M. Smith, 82, of Ransom passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Flanagan Rehabilitation in Flanagan.

Private family burial will be in Allen Township Cemetery in Ransom. Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born October 8, 1938 in Streator she was the daughter of George and Helen (Staver) Gulvas. She married Robert D. Smith on January 20, 1961. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2018.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Charles) Jaegle of Lincoln; sons, Bob (Kim) Smith of Ancona and Dave (Jennifer) Smith of Ransom; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steven (Laurie) Gulvas of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Mary Lou Creamean and Anna Mae Cherveny; and brothers, George and Andy Gulvas.

Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen's Grade School and graduated from Streator Township High School.

She was a phone operator in her early years. She later worked at Ransom Grade School as a cafeteria cook when her children were in grade school. She then worked for Prairie Farms Dairy for several years until her retirement.
