Mrs. Cyril Chenail
Mrs. Odile (Allard) Chenail, 79, widow of Cyril Chenail, died last night at 11:45 o'clock at her home on State road just west of the North Adams-Williamstown boundary. She had been in ill health for eight months following a serious attack of pneumonia.
Mrs. Chenail was born in LaColle, Canada, and had made her home in this area for 36 years, residing in North Adams for six years before moving to Williamstown 30 years ago where she had resided ever since in the house in which she died. Mr. Chenail who died 24 years ago, conducted a farm successfully in Williamstown. Mrs. Chenail's interests were centered in her home and family. She was the mother of 15 children, 10 of whom survive her. She was highly respected as a neighbor and friend and was a devout member of Holy Family church in Greylock.
Mrs. Chenail leaves eight daughters, Mrs. Zephyrine Marceau, Mrs. Telesphor Dumouchel, Mrs. Firmus Bombardier and Mrs. Thomas Karrey of North Adams and Mrs. ARmand Boyer and the Misses Dora, Flora and Rose Chenail, and two sons, William and Nelson Chenail, all of Williamstown, a twin sister, Mrs. Edward Beaudin of Adams and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in Holy Family church. Burial will be in Southview cemetery.
