Farmer. Oldest son of James Fullerton (1773-1847) and Margaret Sharp (1782-1854). Spent his boyhood working on his father's farm. Married Ann Dale Clark (1804-1862) on April 2, 1829. They started out in a log house on the west half of a farm bought by his father. It had a large fireplace that would take a back log 30 inches in diameter and 4 feet long. They had 10 children (James Sharp, Permelia, infant Adeline, John, Walter, Milton, Harvey, Apaline, Margaret Jane, Nan Quigley). He was a slender man of 160 pounds, temperate in his habits and fond of corn bread, mush and buttermilk. He raised his own smoking tobacco, smoked three times a day after each meal and chewed gold rope tobacco. He had a workshop equipped with anvil, bellows and a wood lathe. He was a sure shot with a rifle. He died 23 days after working in the harvest field pitching hay at age 79.
