Waynesville, Laura Rogers Cooper Gunter, 95, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Memorial Mission Campus.

A native of the Fines Creek Community, Laura was the daughter of the late James Hardy and Essie Noland Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Dewey Cooper, who died in 1968; her second husband, Hughey Glen Gunter, who died in 2003; one son, Dewey Cooper, Jr., who died in 2020; seven sisters; one brother; and two grandchildren.

Laura retired with 40 years of dedicated service as a Nurse's Aide with Haywood County Hospital. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and watching American Idol and football.

Laura is survived by two daughters, Martha Revis and Betty Norman; one son, Jim Cooper, and his wife, Sharon; four grandchildren, Bobby Revis, Damita Camaro, Wayne Norman and Anthony Cooper; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend DeVere William officiating.
