Mrs. Margaret Rolland Dies at Daughter's Home
Mrs. Margaret O. Rolland, 55, a practically life-long Adams resident and widow of Frederick A. Rolland, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. George Pelkey of 27 Daly avenue, Dalton. Although she had been in poor health for some time, she had only been seriously ill for the past two weeks. Prior to that time she had been employed at the House of Mercy hospital, Pittsfield.
She was born in Canada but came to Adams with her parents at the age of nine years and resided her until last December when she went to Dalton to make her home with the daughter. While in Adams she was employed at the Berkshire mills. She enjoyed a wide acquaintance and was esteemed by all for her devotion to home and family and her kindly and neighborly qualities. She was a devout member of Notre Dame church here.
Beside Mrs. Pelkey, she is survived by four other daughters, Mrs. Roger Sorel and Mrs. Alfred A. Thebarge, both of North Adams, Mrs. Arsene Jarvis of Adams and Mrs. Theodore Biron, Jr. of Dalton; four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Breen and Mrs. Amanda Perras of North Adams, Mrs. Mary Lemieux of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Mrs. Ida Lefebvre of Burlington, Vt.; one brother, Joseph Fortier of Adams and several grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held Saturday morning at St. Agnes' church, Dalton. The body will be brought to Adams for burial in the family lot in Bellevue cemetery.
