Michael Ruel Archer, age 73, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born June 7, 1947 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Ruel and Irene (Stephens) Archer.

Mr. Archer was the owner and manager of Western Auto in De Queen for 20 plus years and a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army and a graduate of the University of Arkansas. He served on the Sevier County Quorum Court, Sevier County Water Board and Tri-County Water Board. He was a prior deacon of the First Baptist Church in De Queen. Mr. Archer was a current and active member of Kern Heights Baptist Church.

Mr. Archer was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Hazel Brodie; and brother-in-law, Norley Frank Bickley, III.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Brodie) Archer; daughter, Meredith Archer of Plano, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Aneta Archer of Conway, Arkansas; two grandsons Carter and Austin Archer; one sister, Deborah Bickley of De Queen; two nieces and their spouses, Natalie and David Dickey of Arlington, Texas and Neida and Paul Griffin of Yellville, Arkansas; his brother-in-law, Ralph G. Brodie and sister-in-law, Marilou Brodie both of Little Rock, Arkansas and numerous other relatives.

A family graveside for Mr. Archer will be held at 10:00, Wednesday June 9, 2021 at the Redmen Cemetery Pavilion. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Kern Heights Baptist Church in De Queen with Bobby Fischer officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
