He was born February 28, 1926 in Ultimuthule, OK. He was a farmer, businessman, former owner of the Western Auto in De Queen and served in the U.S. Army Infantry during WWII where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in De Queen, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Sweet Home Masonic Lodge #461, a Shriner and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Archer was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome A. and Mary Estella Cox Archer; one brother, Willis Dale Archer; and two sisters, Juanita Barnett and Lily Bell Jeter.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, one son and daughter-in-law, one daughter and son-in-law, one brother, one sister, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Archer will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 in the Redmen Cemetery with Randy Davis officiating.
