George Louis Peters
July 8, 1935-Nov. 28, 2020
George Louis Peters was born on July 8, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio. He was one of three children born from the union of George and Clara Bell (Baker) Peters.
After completing the tenth grade at Dundee High School, George would become a member of the United States Air Force. He would be stationed in Labrador, Canada, during the Korean conflict.
He would later marry the former Nancy Bice on July 16, 1955, in Angola, Indiana. This marriage would be blessed with four children: Fritz, Susan, Catherine and Steven.
When his children were younger, George cherished the times he could teach them to throw a ball. He relished catching a game of football on his television on the weekend.
In his quiet time, George enjoyed playing solitaire on his computer. George looked forward to attending church events with his dear friend, Nancy.
George appreciated being a homebody and despite driving a truck for over sixty years, he always made his way home in the evening to spend time with his wife and his children.
Above anything, George loved his family, but he especially treasured the times and the memories they made, when they traveled to Canada and Florida.
George Louis Peters, age 85, of Petersburg passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital at 5:08p.m.
In addition to his passing, he was preceded by both his parents; his wife: Nancy Peters, and a son: Fritz Peters.
To cherish his memory, George leaves his three children: Sue (Don) Davenport, Cathy Peters, Steve (Suzanne) Peters; his brothers: Harold (Carol) Peters, Ric (Glenda) Peters; grandchildren: Leslie Davenport, Dan (Jody) Davenport, Chris Peters, Mandy (Jonathan) Warner, Jeremy (Mandi) Person, Josh (Liz) Person; great-grandchildren: Katie & Elijah Warner, George & Ainsley Peters and step-grandchildren Kayla, Caden and Kennedy.
