Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Weldon William Bezner will be held Wednesday June 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, TX. Concelebrants will be Fr. Jerome Kodell,

Fr. Matthew Tatyrek, and Fr. Raymond McDaniel. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Services are under the direction of George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Aaron Walterscheid, Kevin Walterscheid, Nick Bezner, Todd Bezner, Bradley Bezner, Keith Bezner, Clint Bezner and Clayton Bezner. Weldon died on June 3, 2021 in Gainesville, TX.

Weldon was born August 19, 1929 in Gainesville, TX to Jacob R. and Elizabeth Wiese Bezner. He attended Lindsay Elementary and High School, graduating in 1946. He then attended Subiaco Academy in Arkansas for post high school studies in 1946-1947. He was a Seabee in the US Navy from 1951-1953.

Weldon married Rose Marie Walterscheid on January 26, 1954 and they made their home in Lindsay, TX. He was a farmer, rancher and businessman, living all of his life in Lindsay. He was a member of St. Peter's parish, singing in the men's choir for many years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Lindsay ISD school board, as well as on the St. Peter's parish council.

Weldon is survived by seven children: Matt, Lisa, Sandra and son-in-law Darell Walterscheid, Andy and daughter-in-law Susie, Bruce and daughter-in-law Jenny, Dan and daughter-in-law Christy, and Pat and daughter-in-law Tammy; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; also siblings Kathleen Caponi and Sister Ramona Bezner. He is also survived by his in-laws: Wilmer and Lovell Walterscheid, Dave and Joan Walterscheid, Marge and Melvin Voth, Jeanette and Johnny Reiter, Frances and Jim Voth, John and Glenda Walterscheid, Florence and Bonny Prescher, Nita and James Fleitman, Leon Walterscheid, and Giles and Marlene Walterscheid, and many nieces and nephews.

Weldon was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Rose Marie Bezner; his parents; his siblings: Lambert Bezner, Wilfred Bezner, James Bezner, Arnold Bezner, Viola Bezner and Sister Anna Rose Bezner; his son Joseph Bezner; and his parents-in-law Alphonse and Augusta Walterscheid and brother-in-law Ernest Walterscheid.

Rosary will be held Tuesday June 8, 2021 at 6:00 pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, TX with visitation to follow in Conrad Hall in Lindsay.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco, AR, or Our Lady of the Lake Convent in San Antonio, TX.
