Thomas Airese "Tommy" Knowles, 65, of Chickamauga, Georgia, entered into eternal rest with our Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at his residence.
He was added to the church at an early age. He was educated in the Walker County School System and graduated from Rossville High School. Tommy was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Shaw Industries after 34 years of service and was an expert mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy T. and Mary L. Dozier Knowles; brother, Paul D. Knowles.
Survivors include his sisters, Patricia Williams, Jerrel D. Knowles, Reaver Knowles Barrett; nieces, Sherry (Francesco) Pizzuto, Dacia (Alex) Neumann, Carmen D. Barrett, Tessie M. Jones, Vanessa Allen; nephews, Cornell Knowles; stepchildren, James "Junior" (Amanda) Turner, Latonya (Walter) Clayton, Shannon (Berry) Martin, Bryan (Erica) Turner; aunt, Jerrel Dean Knowles; uncle, Clifford Dozier; sister-in-law, Terry Knowles, special friend, Marty Dorsey; beloved nephew, Marquise Bryant; a host of other relatives and many friends.
He will lie in state on Monday, May 17, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist.
