Sarah McClellan Davis Lee of Birmingham, AL arrived at her heavenly home on June 2, 2021. She was 96. She was very active at First Baptist Church, Montgomery where she sang in the sanctuary choir for over sixty years. For thirty years, she taught third grade choir, an activity that brought her great joy. Her love for music rivaled her love for her neighborhood bridge club with whom she played for nearly four decades. Born May 20, 1925 in Birmingham, AL, she was the elder of two daughters. In her early years, she participated in the Girl Scouts where she memorized many songs and poems; in her later years, she often and without warning would share those songs and poems with anyone at any time. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and earned a baccalaureate degree from the University of Alabama where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity. After several years of teaching school, she married "Jack" Lee on November 26, 1949 and they raised two daughters. After three years in Baltimore, MD, they spent most of their time in Montgomery, AL until moving to Birmingham in 2013. Sarah will be remembered for her love for others and her witty sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Dean Davis, her mother, Leila Marianne Jones Davis, and her sister, Ethel Jones Davis Middleton.

Visitation will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Montgomery with a Celebration of Life at 2:30pm. . She will be buried in the Lee Family property at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the music ministry or The Caring Center of First Baptist Church, Montgomery.
