Annis Willis Salter, the youngest child of the late John Willis, Sr. and Arnita Harris Willis Jackson, was born on March 29, 1912 in Mobile, Alabama.
A TIME TO BUILD…
Mrs. Salter was educated in the public school system of Mobile, Alabama. She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees from Alabama State University. Further studies were done at Tuskegee University and Alabama A&M University. Annis was employed as a teacher and was a life member of the National Education Association. She also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader.
A TIME TO LOVE…
Annis Willis was united in holy matrimony to Daniel R. Salter in February 1947, and to this union one child was born.
A TIME TO DIE…
Mrs. Salter departed this life on Sunday, March 26, 1995.
A TIME TO MOURN…
She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted husband, Daniel R. Salter; a loving daughter and son-in-law of Lithonia, GA; two aunts, Alberta Willis and Lillian Willis Easton both of Mobile AL; three nieces, A. Evans, S. Haymon and Gloria Hart; three nephews, John H. Willis of Mobile, AL, Lamont Willis, Jr. of Warminster, PA, and A. Salter of Seffner, FL; four devoted cousins, Fred Birch, Clara Cook Young, Onie Cook, Jr. all of Mobile, AL, and H. Lamar of Birmingham, AL; three sisters-in-law, Pearl Hart and Sarah Haymon, both of Tampa, FL, and Katie Willis of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of other family and friends.

Rite of Committal and Interment on Saturday, April 1, 1995 in Oaklawn Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama.
